NEWS : YEAR 11 ENGLISH LIT. MOCK EXAM – ‘JEKYLL & HYDE’ PRODUCTION

On Thursday next week, our Year 11's will be watching the trilling, yet chilling, performance of 'Jekyll and Hyde' by teh theatre company called 'Box Clever'.

This exciting opportunity is in readiness for their impending English Literature mock exam, acting as a visual and innovative form of revision, whereby they can immerse themselves in the story and really understand this dark tale.
Box Clever’s latest adaptation explores in thrilling theatre, the chilling vision provided by Robert Louis Stevenson’s novella in all its horror. This is a world in which relationships are governed by secrecy, suspicion and doubt; a world of internal and external conflict as one man’s struggles with the duality of his nature threaten to destroy himself and his relationships with those around him.
The benefits of such a visit are two-fold, it optimises student engagement and explores revision in its most interesting and tangible form. Further, it brings the subject to life and gives all students, who possibly struggle with textbook revision, the opportunity to think about the subject area and understand the content of a story ready to illustrate their understanding on paper.
A creative and exciting form of learning. So....
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Due to its proven success previously, we’re appealing to our school’s parents/carers and asking them to kindly donate a £5 (voluntary) contribution in order to run similar performances later in the academic year. Again, we believe the benefits of such trips are hugely valuable and will really aid the students in their revision process in readiness for this important exam year.
If you would like to make a contribution, of which we would be most grateful, then do get in touch with Mrs Sukoco who can assist in ensuring we have the facility to collect such a kind and beneficial donation.
In the meantime, wishing all of our Year 11’s a wonderful time at the performance and, further, the best of luck with their ongoing revision.
