MARCH NEWS : LET'S DANCE 2024 AT THE CONGRESS THEATRE!

What a way to end Term 4, with the incredible annual event of #Let'sDance2024, hosted by LET'S DANCE UK in affiliation with #TeamRatton #SouthDownsLearningTrust.
We were incredibly proud to not only have both of our family of schools entered, but to work in collaboration with LET'S DANCE UK, bringing local schools across #TeamSussex (East Sussex County Council) and this year, even a couple from #TeamKent (Kent County Council). All with the common goal of bringing young people together to celebrate and enjoy the creativity of #Dance!
Both #TeamRatton and #TeamOcklynge, our #SDLT schools, represented this year and what an amazing job both groups did. Our mixed group from #TeamRatton wow'ed with their talent and flair, and our #TeamBoys group for Ocklynge opened the second show with their energy and dance to 'Pump it'. A huge WELL DONE to both groups, you represented #SouthDownsLearningTrust with fun, enthusiasm and energy!
An extended WELL DONE goes out to all competing schools, all doing their schools #PROUD. You guys rock!
Let's Dance brings together young people from across Sussex/Kent, showcasing a love and passion for Dance irrespective of experience or expertise. For some, it is their first steps on a real stage and before a live audience, and all of the young people coped really well - raising the roof off of the Congress Theatre Eastbourne. on both nights.
The evening saw over 20 schools from Key Stage 2 upwards, performing any style they wished to music of their choice. The one universal theme was to bring joy and happiness that they feel in performing their piece across to those witnessing from the auditorium and, boy oh boy, did they all do that! Two full house evenings, alive with music, dance and, most definitely, joy!
Finally, a huge THANKS as ever goes to LET'S DANCE UK charitable trust, for their continued passion and opportunities they give to young people our county and beyond. Thanks for having us.
Finally, a staff shout-out and huge THANKS goes out to Miss Hughes, teacher of Dance at Ratton, who helped run the event, hosted on the evening and choreographed both dances for #TeamRatton and #TeamOcklynge. Your dedication and passion for your teaching area was tangible and you should be really proud, we certainly are. Well done.
Well done #TeamSussex, let's keep #SussexMoving, and also to #TeamKent, you guys rock. See you next year at #Let'sDance2025!
